Mullica River Osprey

Cassario has added a photo to the pool:

Mullica River Osprey

I have been driving my boat past this Osprey nest for the past 3 summers and only seen her a handful of times, and out of those handful of times I have never had a lens that could get a decent shot of her. I had the awesome Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII for the week to give it a test run before making a new lens purchase, so I brought it along over the weekend while out on the boat. The first time I drove by the nest she wasnt in it, then on the way back she was up in a tree about 50 yards away. I decided to give it about an hour and I went back to find her nesting, but all I could see was her head popping out. I got as close as I could with the boat, trying not to scare her, but I guess I got a little too close for her comfort and she took off, circles around us to get a good look, and then landed back again.

I got a ton of shots of her, although I definitely would have liked to have a lens that would have given me a little more reach, I really cant get too picky now...
This isnt the best shot that I have, I actually have a few that Im taking my time editing, but my PC crashed and Im editing these, as well as all my other shots from the weekend on my laptop. Let me know how this looks.

If you want to take a look at some other shots from the weekend I have them up on my blog....
