The Newbury Bypass Oak

peter orr photography has added a photo to the pool:

The Newbury Bypass Oak

This fine Oak, surrounded by roads at the Speen junction of the Newbury bypass, was saved from felling by the protesters who climbed it. It was known as Middle Oak, being half-way along the bypass construction route where the A4 crosses over the A34. Fifteen years on, it is still enjoying life to the full in the winter evening light.
